Trespassing Arrests Stem from Complaints Involving Squatters on Steamboat Road

On Thursday Greenwich Police were dispatched to the area 655 Steamboat Road on a report of a suspicious female in an area known to attract squatters.

Police identified the woman as Cindy Rose Joseph, 35, of Stamford.

During investigation Police learned that Ms Joseph had an active arrest warrant in Greenwich stemming from an incident on April 20 when she returned to a property after being advised by police not to.

She was charged with Criminal Trespass 1st degree and was unable to post her $20,000 bond. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 19, 2023.

Last week Greenwich Police arrested a Yonkers man after investigating stolen patio cushions and a tip that the suspect might be illegally residing at 655 Steamboat Road. Jose Santos-Pena, 24, faces charges including two charges of Criminal Trespass 2, as well as Criminal Mischief 1 and Larceny 6.

The property at 655 Steamboat Road is a house that was posted for demolition back in 2022. It is still standing as of Saturday, May 6.

Across the street at 672 Steamboat Road, a house was recently demolished after having initially been post posted for demolition in 2017.

This house, set atop ledge rock, suffered a fire in December 2022.
