Tip Leads to DUI Arrest on W Putnam Ave around 3:00am

On March 22 around 3:15am Greenwich Police conducted a motor vehicle stop after receiving a tip about a blue Jeep that had just left Byram with a driver operating under the influence of alcohol.

A blue Jeep was spotted by police traveling east on West Putnam Ave crossing the double yellow line several times.

The vehicle was also observed to have a broken tail light at which time the motor vehicle stop was conducted.

Police say that upon conducting the stop, the vehicle mounted the curb/sidewalk twice.

During the stop police determined the driver, identified as Connie Shuler, 21, of Marsh Rd in Easton, CT, was not carrying her driver’s license.

While conducting the investigation Shuler was observed to have bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol. She did not perform field sobriety tests to standard and was arrested and charged with DUI, Improper Rear Lamps, Failure to Maintain Lane and Failure to carry Operator’s License.

Her bond was set at $250.

She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on April 5, 2019.
