Teen Charged after Engaging Police in 3am Chase through Riverside

Greenwich Police arrested a 16-year-old youthful offender on Nov 2 around 3:00am after a chase in the area of Indian Head Rd in Riverside.

Police say that initially they received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Hendrie and Riverside Ave.

The driver failed to obey police commands to stop. Instead he sped off in excess of 45mph in a 25mph zone with headlights lights off and not staying in its lane.

The car crashed and two occupants fled.

One subject, later identified as the 16-year-old was found and taken into custody. DMV records revealed he did not have a driver’s license.

He was charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Engaging Police in Pursuit, Evading Responsibility, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, Driving without a License, Failure to Display lights.

The teen was unable to post his $500 bond. As of the police report, he was being held in the GPD cell block pending a court date on __
