Suspect Arrested in July Strong Arm Robbery on Greenwich Avenue

Greenwich Police arrested a Bronx man who was wanted for a July 18 strong arm robbery on Greenwich Avenue. The suspect is alleged to have attempted to forcibly take proceeds from a female after she left a high-end electronics store on lower Greenwich Avenue.

The incident was caught on a bystander’s cell phone video and circulated.

At the time police explained that the female victim had purchased the electronic items but did not identify the store. However, the widely circulated video of the incident shot from inside Meli-Melo, next to the Apple Store, was posted on a private Facebook group.

Geraldo Morales, 20, was extradited from Rikers Island on Oct 27 by investigating officers from the Greenwich Police Department.

He was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 2, Assault 3, Conspiracy to Commit Assault 3, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 2, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 4, Criminal Impersonation, Criminal Attempt Robbery 2, Criminal Attempt Larceny 2 and Criminal Attempt Larceny 4.

He was unable to post his $100,000 bond and was laced in GPD cell block #2.
