Stolen Xbox Leads to Burglary and Larceny Charges for Greenwich Teen

police stationOn December 2, 2014 Greenwich Police were detailed to headquarters on the report of a stolen Xbox gaming system from a local residence in the vicinity of Alexander Street in Greenwich.

The investigation revealed that the victim’s home was entered illegally while the victim wasn’t home and the gaming system was stolen from the residence. The system was then sold by the perpetrator to a gaming center in Port Chester, where it was later recovered.

Investigation led Greenwich Police to Artic Street where the youthful offender 17, was immediately identified from surveillance footage provided by the gaming center as the individual selling the stolen property.

A warrant was processed, signed and returned for the arrest of the youthful offender who voluntarily turned himself in at Greenwich Police headquarters on Jan. 8, 2015 at about 7pm. He was processed for Burglary in the 3rd degree and Larceny in the 6th degree and released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 16, 2015.
