The City of Rye New York Police Dept issued a press release on Saturday about a 19-year-old White plains man who faces multiple charges after crashing his vehicle in Rye with six passengers inside.
On July 4, Rye police responded to a one-car rollover accident on the Boston Post Road at the intersection of Bradford Ave.
When officers arrived, they found the driver, Jamal Abdul Razak, 19, and multiple passengers ages 18-19, outside the vehicle. The passengers reported only minor injuries, and all were transported by EMS to the Westchester County Medical Center for treatment.
An investigation revealed that the crashed vehicle was traveling north on the Boston Post Rd when according to Razak, he was attempting to avoid an animal in the roadway, struck the curb causing him to over correct and flip his vehicle.
