Riverside Service Repeats Holiday Rides Program in Conjunction with GPD

Riverside Service is again partnering with Greenwich Police this holiday season to offer Greenwich residents a safe way home.

“Last year we towed a few people who took advantage of the program,” said Albert Jagodzinski, owner of Riverside Service. “That’s alright. The idea is we don’t want you to drink and drive.”

If a Greenwich resident is not sober to drive, they can contact the Greenwich Police Department’s Non-Emergency number (203) 622-8004 to make arrangements for a ride home from Riverside Service, including a free vehicle tow.

The offer begins Saturday, Nov 14 and runs through Jan 2, 2021.

“People who call Greenwich Police and you’re not comfortable driving, then GPD will dispatch one of Riverside Service to come and tow you and your car home,” Jagodzinski said, adding that his drivers are carefully adhering to Covid protocols, including wearing masks and gloves.

“Also our trucks are sanitized every shift,” he added.

“I’m hoping that it catches on a little more, and I’m hoping that other companies that do what I do will expand this across the country,” Jagodzinski said.
