On Friday Greenwich Police responded to the area of Riverside Ave and East Putnam Ave on a report of an argument between two people.
Investigation revealed that a man had punched a woman in the head and face during an argument.
The incident took place around 4:00am.
Police charged Robert L Hayward, 63, of Riverside with Disorderly Conduct and Assault 3.
He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Friday, May 13.
