On Tuesday around 1:00pm, Greenwich Police on patrol in Cos Cob observed the driver of a black Mercedes convertible, later identified as Thomas Fox of 6 Cherry Ln in Old Greenwich, heading north on Orchard Street while drinking a Coors Light Beer.
After police stopped the car, Mr. Fox handed over a 24 oz Coors Light Beer can and explained that he was on his way to play golf and had just purchased the beer.
Officers had Fox perform field sobriety tests, which he was able to perform to standard.
He was charged with Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle and was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug 21, 2018.
