Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Suspect in “Distraction Thefts”

Greenwich Police are looking to identify a woman suspected of being involved in at least two distraction-type larcenies in the Central Business District.

The ruse involves the woman, in concert with a man, not pictured, approaching an elderly victim and distracting the victim by dropping money.

Police say that when the victim looks for the “dropped money,” the woman in the photo will enter the victim’s vehicle and steal their purse.

Both incidents occurred in the parking lot area of 240 Greenwich Avenue, which is the address associated with the Bank of America.

This investigation is being conducted by the Greenwich Police Detective Division.

The Greenwich Police Department is requesting assistance.
