Police Respond to Incident Over Trump Sign on Riverside Ave Bridge

On Friday afternoon Greenwich Police received a report that a man was putting up a Trump 2020 sign on the side of the Riverside Ave I95 overpass when another man stopped and started an argument with him.

The report came from a third party who called police after speaking to the alleged victim.

Captain Mark Zuccerella said the victim told police he had been cut when the other man tried to cut his sign down.

Zuccerella said investigation determined the victim did have a small injury, but he refused police service and it was unclear whether the injury was from a cutting instrument.

“We don’t have any further information since the victim didn’t want any police involvement,” Zuccerella added, noting, “It looks like the Trump supporter was a victim.”
