PHOTOS, VIDEO: Fire on Field Point Road Destroys Home, Spares Nearby Homes

Update, Monday, Nov 23 1:54pm. Fire Marshal Chris Pratico confirmed the house at 475 Field Point Rd, which was under construction, was completely destroyed on Friday night. He also confirmed no one was injured. The fire is under investigation.

Original Story: Saturday, Nov 21, 3:30pm. On Friday night around 11:00pm neighbors of a house at 475 Field Point Rd heard two explosions and witnessed a fire engulf the house, which was under construction.

“Everyone owes the Greenwich Fire Dept a huge thank you. This could have been a huge disaster because the home was close to other houses,” said one neighbor who did not wish to be identified, who added that a burning ember burned a hole through one neighbor’s roof.

“Not to mention the family who lost their home,” she said, adding that the family were renting a home nearby while the home was under construction.

“It was a very scary night for all the people who live so close,” she added. “The Greenwich Fire Dept does an amazing job saving lives and homes.”
