Original Story: Saturday, Nov 21, 3:30pm. On Friday night around 11:00pm neighbors of a house at 475 Field Point Rd heard two explosions and witnessed a fire engulf the house, which was under construction.

“Everyone owes the Greenwich Fire Dept a huge thank you. This could have been a huge disaster because the home was close to other houses,” said one neighbor who did not wish to be identified, who added that a burning ember burned a hole through one neighbor’s roof.

“Not to mention the family who lost their home,” she said, adding that the family were renting a home nearby while the home was under construction.

“It was a very scary night for all the people who live so close,” she added. “The Greenwich Fire Dept does an amazing job saving lives and homes.”
