PHOTOS: Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Co’s 100th Anniversary Celebrated in Style

The Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company’s 100th anniversary celebration benefited from mild, sunny fall weather and an enthusiastic crowd.

The event was originally scheduled a week earlier but was moved forward due to the weather. …and it was worth waiting for!

Established in 1922, Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Co is a volunteer organization under the Greenwich Fire Department. Learn more about joining the fire company, a 501(c)3. They have two types of members, active interior firefighters and associate members who are members that want to support the fire company with fund raising and other administrative roles.

The event kicked off with a parade of firetrucks that started at St. Catherine’s Church, moved west along East Putnam Avenue, and finished behind the fire house where families got a close up look at the trucks.

There was a live band, food and demonstrations including a display of the American flag between ladder trucks from Belltown and Noroton Heights.
