Patient’s Assault of Greenwich Hospital Employee Caught on Camera

On Sunday around 7:00pm Greenwich Police responded to Greenwich Hospital on a report of an assault.

During their investigation, officers determined that the accused, Victor Gonzalez, 39, of Brooklyn, NY, was a patient at the hospital. Police said Gonzalez was observed on camera entering the secured nursing station where he knocked a hospital employee onto the ground and held her there while striking her with a closed fist. Further, police relayed that according to the victim, Mr. Gonzalez also threatened her with bodily harm while he was on top of her.

The following day police obtained an arrest warrant for Gonzalez with a $250,000 court set bond for the following charges: Assault 2, Threatening 2 – physical threat, and Unlawful Restraint 1.

After Gonzalez was released from the hospital he was then placed under arrest and held in police custody in lieu of the bond.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 17, 2025.
