No Headlights Leads to DUI Arrest on Delavan Ave

Close to 3:00am on May 21 Greenwich Police patrolling Delavan Ave in Byram spotted a vehicle headed east with no lights illuminated, front or rear.

Police stopped the car and during investigation determined the car’s registration had expired in January 2019 and the vehicle was uninsured.

When speaking with the driver, Jelissa Castillo, 26, of Bridgeport, the investigating officer observed her to have “a thousand yard stare” and the odor of alcoholic beverage.

the driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard. She was charged with Driving an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, DUI, Failure to Display Lights and Failure to Insure Motor Vehicle.

She was released after posting the required 10% of her $250 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 3, 2022.
