New Jersey Man Faces Dozens of Charges Stemming from Stolen Credit Cards

A Patterson, NJ man faces numerous charged in Greenwich stemming from an incident on Greenwich Avenue on May 29, 2025.

Greenwich Police said plain clothes officers spotted behavior consistent with credit card fraud that was occurring on Greenwich Ave. After in-person surveillance, Greenwich Police observed a co-conspirator utilize various credit cars in multiple stores.

Officers conducted conducted an investigative stop of the co-conspirator’s  vehicle on Greenwich Avenue, where Jonathan Carrasco, 35, was seated in the front passenger seat.

On scene investigation revealed that Mr. Carrasco conspired with another person, utilizing several credit cards belonging to multiple victims without authorization.

Carrasco, in the act of illegally utilizing the victim’s credit card utilized the personal identifying information in the form of the victim’s name and credit card number without permission or authorization and in doing so, committed a larceny totaling $6,609.30 from purchases made at various stores on Greenwich Ave.

Additionally Carrasco was in possession of 16 other stolen credit cards.

He was charged with:

Larceny 3, Criminal Attempt Larceny 6, Criminal Attempt Larceny 6 (3 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6 (3 counts), Illegal Take Payment Card 916 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Take Payment Card (16 counts), Criminal Attempt Less then $500 on Revoked Payment Card (3 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Less than $500 on revoked Payment Card (3 counts), Less than $500 on Revoked Payment Card, Greater than $500 on Revoked Payment Card (3 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Greater than $500 on Revoked Payment Card (3 counts), Receipt from Illegal use Credit Card (5 counts), Conspiracy to Commit/Receipt from Illegal use Credit Card (5 counts), Identity Theft 3rd degree (4 counts), Identity Theft 3rd degree, (4 counts), Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation (4 counts), Criminal Impersonation (4 counts), Interfering with Officer/Resisting Arrest.

He was unable to post his $50,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 11, 2025 at Stamford Superior Court.
