On June 12, Greenwich Police plain clothes officers observed suspicious activity in a retail store on Greenwich Ave.
Plain clothes officers conducted in person surveillance of the arrestee, Kensly Simeon, 27, of Hillside NJ, and his co-conspirator Jordan Canales, 26, also of Hillside, NJ, and noted behavior consistent with return fraud.
Ms Canales was observed making the return of several items which were stolen, resulting in a financial loss during the exchange of the items.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects were in possession of several stolen items, totaling over $500 and a shoplifting device inside his vehicle.
Mr. Simeon was charged with Larceny 5, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5, Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device and conspiracy to Commit/Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device.
He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 27, 2025.
He was able to post his $1,000 bond using the 7% cash option and was released from police custody.
Ms Canales was found to be in possession of two counterfeit ID’s, several stolen items totaling over $500, and a shoplifting device inside the vehicle.
She was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5, Larceny 5, Illegal Possession of shoplifting device, Conspiracy to Commit Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device and two counts of Forgery 2.
Her bond was set at $1,000. She was able to post her $1,000 bond using the 7% cash option and was released from police custody.
