Multiple Charges for Driver Clocked Exceeding 100MPH on I-95

Around 3:00am on Saturday Dec 7, Greenwich Police say they spotted a 2007 Mercedes Benz C280 that failed to stop for more than one traffic signal before speeding toward I-95 southbound and turning onto the highway without signaling.

Police say the driver, later identified as Michael Napoli, 25, of Havemeyer Lane in Old Greenwich, traveled at sustained speeds exceeding 100MPH on I-95 while weaving between the lanes.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Indian Field Road after the car got off I-94 at Exit 4.

Police say Mr. Napoli, who presented with glassy, red eyes and had the odor of alcoholic beverages, was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

He was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding Over 70 Miles per Hour, Failure to Maintain Lane, Failure to Obey Traffic Signal (two counts) and Failure to Signal Turn (2 Counts).

Napoli was unable to post his $250 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 23, 2019.
