Men Charged in Bank Account Scam in Glenville

On Feb 27 two men from Yonkers turned themselves in at Greenwich Police headquarters on outstanding warrants for a scam that resulted in a victim having $645 stolen from his bank account and transferred into another account.

Police say the victim’s bank account was compromised and accessed illegally.

Police say the scam involved several people and stemmed back to last September in Glenville.

Police charged Daniel Marrero, 25, and Zhane Fields, 23, with Identity Theft 3, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft, Illegal Possession of Personal ID Info Device and Larceny 5.

Each were able to post 10% cash of their $2,500 bond and share a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 29, 2021.
