Greenwich Police arrested a Bridgeport man early in the morning of Aug 25 for Violation of Probation.
Police were dispatched to the area of Horseneck Lane just in from Arch Street on a request for a welfare check on a man sleeping in the grass.
The man was identified as Alexis Ortega, 28. During their on scene investigation police discovered that Mr. Ortega had an active warrant out of Stamford Superior Court stemming from violating the terms of his probation after being sentenced on Oct 3, 2022 for Interfering with Officers/Resisting. The warrant was issued on Aug 15, 2025. Bond was set at $7,500, which he was unable to post.
There was also a warrant for Mr. Ortega for Probation Violation after being sentenced for Illegal Operation of Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Drugs/Alcohol.
He was unable to post the required 7% of his $7,500 bond and remained in GPD custody.
Lastly a third warrant was out of Meriden, CT. That third charge had a bond of $5,000 which he was also unable to post.
Mr. Ortega is due in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 10, 2025.
