Man Arrested at 18 in Greenwich Turns Himself in 12 Years after Failing to Appear in Court

police stationOn Wednesday July 15, 2015 at approximately 11:00am, Rene Herrera, 31, of Stamford turned himself in at Greenwich Police headquarters on an active warrant or Failure to Appear.

The warrant stemmed back to a March 4, 2003 incident on Ritch Ave in Byram for which Herrera received multiple motor vehicle charges including Misuse of Marker Plates, Operating Without a License, and Operating an Unregistered Vehicle.

Herrera failed to appear in court on May 9, 2003 to answer to the motor vehicle charges and an arrest warrant was issued on May 15, 2003.

Herrera was charged by Greenwich Police with Failure to Appear 2nd Degree and assigned a court date of July 22, 2015 in Stamford Superior Court. Herrera was released on $500 bond.
