On October 11 around 5:00pm Greenwich Police observed Charlee Javier Rodriguez shoplifting on Greenwich Avenue.
Mr. Rodriguez, 27, of Davis Avenue in Greenwich, was also a suspect in other recent larcenies at the same store.
Greenwich Police officers attempted to make a motor vehicle stop of the subject’s vehicle.
Mr. Rodriguez fled south on Greenwich Avenue, which resulted in a chase that police abandoned on I-95 for safety reasons.
Soon after the chase, Mr. Rodriguez responded to Greenwich Police headquarters where he was processed and released.
Rodriguez was charged with Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest, Larceny 6, Traffic Control Signals, Engaging Police in Pursuit and Speeding. His bond was set at $10,000 which he was able to post.
He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 25, 2019.
Rodriguez has a history with Greenwich Police. In April 2015 he was arrested by Greenwich Police and charged with multiple offenses including Operating a Drug Factory in Wilbur Peck.
In December 2014 he was charged by Greenwich Police with Possession and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to sell within 1500 ft of Public Housing.
