Local Man Charged with Criminal Trespass at The J House

On Sept 5, just before midnight, Greenwich Police were dispatched to The J House on a report of a person relating that the hotel would not honor his reservation.

Police said the caller also related that he believed the hotel was not honoring his reservation because of the way he was dressed.

Upon arrival on scene, officers spoke with both the reporting party who identified himself as Anthony G Williams, 59, of Old Greenwich, and The J House Staff.

Officers heard arguments regarding an outstanding balance that Mr. Williams had accrued while at The J House. He was advised that the financial dispute between him and The J House was a civil matter.

Further, he was advised that The J House no longer wanted him on the property and that he had to leave the premises or would be arrested for Trespass.

Police say Mr. Williams was provided the opportunity to leave to another hotel or relative’s residence, but elected to remain within the lobby of The J House.

He was then placed under arrest, transported to Greenwich Police Dept where he was processed for Criminal Trespass 2. His bond was set at $100. He chose not to post bond and was placed in Cell #1.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 20, 2023.
