Local Man Charged for Interfering with 911 Call after Incident

Greenwich Police charged a local man with Interfering with an Emergency Call and Disorderly Conduct following an incident on March 2.

Police initially responded to a Pemberwick residence on a report of a man intoxicated and out of control who was breaking items within the residence.

Investigation revealed that while in the presence of two victims, Anthony Michael DeVita, 33, was acting aggressively and threw a picture frame and small container at the wall.

Further, they say one of the victims began to call 911 for assistance when DeVita took the victim’s phone away and ended the 911 call.

After several minutes DeVita returned the phone and left the residence. He was located by police several streets away from the residence.

He was processed and assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court. He was released on 10% of his $1,000 bond and released.
