License Plate Reader Reveals Stolen Registration; Driver Wanted for Failure to Appear for Assault Charge

Around 1:30am on Thursday Greenwich Police patrolling the area of I95 exit 4 in Cos Cob spotted a gray Honda Accord. A license plate reader inquiry revealed that the registration was stolen and belonged on a Toyota Camry.

It was later revealed that the driver, Cristian Carreon, 23, of Stamford, had an active warrant for failure to appear in court on Feb 2. He was originally charged with Assault 3 and Disorderly in another police jurisdiction.

He was charged by GPD with Failure to Appear and Larceny 6. He was unable to post the required 10% of his $25,000 bond for Failure to Appear and was placed in a GPD cell block.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 24, 2023.
