Irate Hotel Guest Faces Multiple Charges

On Sunday around 5:00am Greenwich Police responded to 1800 East Putnam Ave on a report of an irate guest.

Officers arrived at 1800 East Putnam Ave, which is the address associated with the Hyatt Regency, they confirmed that the hotel staff had asked the guest, Jose Vasquez, 31, from Brooklyn, NY, failed to leave the property after complaints of him being loud and disruptive. Vasquez refused to leave the property after being told that if he did not, he would be arrested. There was a second guest asked to leave, who did depart.

Vasquez was found in possession of under a half ounce of presumptive positive marijuana.

Police said his behavior was “aggressive, irate and hostile” at Greenwich Police Dept which resulted in officers having to use necessary force to gain control of him in the processing area.

Vasquez was charged with Breach of Peace 2, Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass 1, and Illegal Possession.

His bond was set at $200 and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 3, 2020.
