Halloween Drinking and Driving Results in Crash at Foot of I95 Exit 3

police handcuffsA Fall River, MA man faces multiple charges after an accident with injuries at the I95 exit ramp at Arch Street just after 6:00pm on Halloween. According to Greenwich Police, Robert James Galligan, 32, of 15 Orchard St., Apt 1E in Fall River  failed to stop for the red light at the at the southbound ramp of exit 3. Further investigation determined that Galligan had red, glassy eyes and the odor of alcoholic beverages. He failed to complete a series of field sobriety tests, and a search of his car yielded several empty vodka bottles.

Galligan, who was unable to produce valid insurance documents, was charged with Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle and DUI. He was also charged with Operating without a License, Failing to Obey a Traffic Signal, he was charged with not having insurance. His bond was set at $2,500, which he was unable to post. He was placed in the Greenwich Police cell block. Galligan has a court date scheduled in Stamford on Nov. 14.
