Greenwich Teen Charged with Making Threats to Teacher Via Facebook

On Tuesday at about 12:15pm, Greenwich Police headed to Greenwich High School on a report of a student making threats to a teacher via Facebook messages.

Upon arrival, Police learned that 18-year-old, Thomas Walker of 21 Ferris Drive in Old Greenwich, was in class when the victim took his cellphone away because he was texting during class.

According to Police the victim saw her name on the screen of the phone and opened up the messages to find that the boy had written to unknown friends about plans to “jump” his teacher and that she “needs to die.”

According to Greenwich Police, the victim became afraid and contacted the school Student Resource Officer.

School officials provided Police with screen shots of Walker’s Facebook messages and his written statement. Walker was placed under arrest for Breach of Peace 2nd degree.

Walker was released on a Promise to Appear in Stamford Superior Court on February 10.
