UPDATE: GPD Arrest Suspect in East Lyon Farm Burglary

Update Dec 2, 2021 10:00pm: Greenwich Police Dept Lt Martin O’Reilly shared an arrest report related Wednesday night’s Burglary at East Lyon Farm, a condominium association off Weaver Street in Glenville, on Wednesday night. According to the report, Estevens Carvajal Mendez, 26, was charged with Possession of Burglar Tools and Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest. His bond was set at $250,000, which he was unable to post. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 15, 2021.

Original Story, Dec 1, 2021: Residents were curious about a helicopter flying over areas of western Greenwich Wednesday evening.

According to Greenwich Police, at approximately 6:10pm they received a call about a possible burglary in the area of Weaver Street and East Lyon Farm.

Officers on scene located three subjects who tried to flee the scene on foot after observing the Officers.

One of the subjects was apprehended immediately, and the other two fled south on Weaver Street.

The subject who was in custody was in possession of burglary tools.

Officers responded to the area and established a perimeter to prevent the subjects from leaving.

Assistance was requested from the Stamford Police Dept and Port Chester Police Dept K-9 Units.

Also, the Westchester County Police Aviation Unit assisted with a helicopter.

At approximately 9:10pm, the search for the subjects was concluded as it was determined they were no longer in the area.

Greenwich Police thanked all the residents who called their Dispatch Center with the information they observed, as well as the Stamford Police Department CT, Port Chester Police Department, and Westchester County Police Department.

This case will be investigated further to identify and arrest the two fleeing subjects.
