On Friday night, just before 10:00pm, Greenwich Police combined dispatch received a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle in the area of 623 West Putnam Avenue.

Police, Fire and GEMS all responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling west on West Putnam Avenue approaching its intersection with East Weaver Street (opposite Holly Hill Lane).
Concurrently, a motorist was exiting the Mobil gas station located at 623 West Putnam Avenue. The motorcycle collided with the vehicle exiting the gas station.
The motorcycle operator and passenger were both thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the collision and were transported to a local area hospital for emergency treatment for injuries sustained in the collision. The motor vehicle operator remained on scene and was interviewed by investigators.
West Putnam Avenue between East Weaver Street and Western Jr. Hwy was closed for several hours for the crash investigation, but has since been re-opened.
The Greenwich Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the collision.
