Update: 1:44pm:
At 10:20 on 7/10/2023 the Greenwich Police Department was dispatched to 73 Post Rd, Splash Car Wash, on a report of a person that was struck by a vehicle. CFS # 23-22133.
Initial investigation determined that an employee of the car wash was struck by a vehicle exiting the wash. The vehicle then continued crossing the Post Rd where it collided with another vehicle’s driver’s side.
The driver of the second vehicle had minor injuries and was transported to Greenwich Hospital for treatment.
The employee that was struck had more serious injuries and was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment.
The Post Rd is now fully re-opened to traffic and the investigation is still ongoing.
Original story: Greenwich Police Lt Smyth alerted media that the Greenwich Police Department is investigating a Motor Vehicle collision with injuries in the area of 73 Post Road, Cos Cob. This is in the area of Splash Car Wash and Post Road Auto Body Shop.
Due to the investigation the Post Road is closed in both directions and traffic is being diverted.
Smyth said more information will be forthcoming. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
