Greenwich Police Charge Two with Retail Theft on Greenwich Ave

Two people from Queens, NY were arrested by Greenwich Police on Oct 17 after plain clothes officers in the area of Greenwich Avenue observed their behavior to be consistent with a concealment style retail theft.

Pedro Torres, 44, and Nelcy Carrasco Cuellar, 35, were detained, and on scene investigation revealed they had acted in concert to commit organized retail theft. Police said the duo utilized a shoplifting device inside the store to conceal merchandise and defeat security sensors.

The total dollar amount of stolen merchandise received was over $400.00.

Mr. Torres and Ms Carrasco Cuellar were each charged with Larceny 6, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6, Conspiracy to Commit/Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device and Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device.

Bond was set at $100,000 for each of the arrestees, which neither was able to post.

Both are due in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 31, 2025.
