Greenwich Police Catch up With Reckless Driver Who Didn’t Stop for Police

Greenwich Police caught up with a Stamford man they tried to pull over last summer for speeding in the area of Hillside Rd and East Putnam Ave.

On Jan 29 Stamford Police notified GPD they had Andrew Delarosa, 22, in custody on the active arrest warrant from GPD.

Back on Aug 25 around 1:30am, Delarosa allegedly failed to comply with officers’ signals when trying to conduct a motor vehicle stop.

Delarosa continued to evade officers at a high rate of speed and failed to obey a traffic control signal before leaving the area.

He was charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Disobeying Signal of Officer and Traffic Controls Signals.

After Mr. Delarosa was processed he was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Fe 14, 2023.

Delarosa has a history with police. According to the State of CT Judicial Branch website, he has a case pending with Norwalk Police for a June 2021 incident in that city where he was charged with Assault 3, Stalking 2, Unlawful Restraint 1, and Breach of Peace 2.

In 2019 he was charged by warrant from Greenwich Police with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6 for an incident at Madison Wine & Liquor on North Water Street in Byram.
