Greenwich Police Arrest Four Following Fraudulent Activity at Saks

On Nov 22 around 6:30pm, Greenwich Police responded to Saks Fifth Avenue at 200 Greenwich Avenue on a report of possible fraudulent activity.

In total, four men were arrested.

Police say Amaddam Suarez, 24, of Queens NY; Yu Zi Zhao, 240, of College Point, NY; John Grisales, 27, of Flushing, NY; and Edwin Gonzalez 41, of New Britain, CT traveled to Greenwich for the purpose of obtaining merchandise from local retailers using stolen credit cards.

The fraud was detected while Gonzales was making a purchase at Saks. A subsequent investigation connected Gonzales to Suarez, Zhao and Grisales.

After their arrests, all but Grisales were able to make bond and were released.

Mr. Zhao was determined to be in possession of stolen credit cards and was involved in assisting another individual conduct a fraudulent transaction using a stolen credit card.

Zhao was charged with Conspiracy to Commit/Larceny 3, Conspiracy to Commit/Illegal Receive Payment Card, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny Greater than $500 on Revoked Payment Card, Conspiracy to Commit Receipt from Illegal Use Credit Card, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3, and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3.

His bond was set at $15,000. He has a court date in Stamford Superior Court on December 6, 2017.

Mr. Suarez of 3123 56th Street in Queens, NY was charged with Criminal Attempt Larceny 4, which resulted in a $15,000 court set bond.

Mr. Suarez was also charged with Criminal to Conspiracy to Commit / Illegal Sale/Buy/ Payment card (which resulted in a $15,000 bond), Conspiracy to Commit/Receipt From Illegal Use Credit Card; Conspiracy to Commit/ Identity Theft 3 and Conspiracy to Commit/Criminal Impersonation. He has a court date on Dec 6, 2017 in Stamford Superior Court.

Mr. Grisales, of 137 Geranium Ave in Flushing, NY was determined to be in possession of stolen credit cards and assisting another individual conduct a fraudulent transaction using a stolen credit card.

Grisales was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3, Conspiracy to Commit Illegally Receive Payment Card, Conspiracy to Commit greater than $500 on Revoked Payment Card; Conspiracy to Commit/Receipt from Illegal Use Credit Card; Conspiracy to c0mmit Identity Theft 3 and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3.

Bond for Grisales was set at $25,000. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 6, 2017.

Edwin Ely Gonzalez, of 140 North Street in New Britain, CT was determined to have purchased merchandise using a stolen credit card. He was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3, Conspiracy to Commit Illegal Sale/Buy Payment Card, Conspiracy to Commit/Receipt from Illegal Use Credit Card; Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3 and Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation.

Gonzalez has a court date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 6, 2017.
