Greenwich Police April 2016 Officer of the Month: Detective Christy Girard

The Greenwich Police Officer of the Month is Detective Christy Girard. Deputy Chief Mark Marino writes that, Detective Christy Girard was detailed to investigate the circumstances regarding a structure fire in a condominium complex in Cos Cob with over 100 residences.

Detective Christy Girard coordinated with the Town of Greenwich Deputy Fire Marshal, Chris Moynahan, and State Police Detective Makuc assigned to their Arson Unit to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The investigative team would determine that the fire was of human design. It was an incendiary fire, intentionally lit by human hands, and classified as an Arson.

Detective Girard conducted a technically challenging investigation. Throughout the lengthy investigative process, Detective Girard displayed outstanding investigative expertise and tenacity in pursuit of the truth and the suspect.

“You are commended for your dedication in the performance of your duties. Your actions reflect great credit upon yourself, your fellow officers and the Greenwich Police Department. On behalf of the community, I thank you for a job well done,” Deputy Chief Mark Marino  said.
