Greenwich Police responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on Hamilton Avenue in Chickahominy on Aug 8, around 8:00pm.
Police said that upon investigation, officer determined that the accused, Gonzalo Stephen Stiechel, 39, of Greenwich had been traveling above the posted speed limit when he rear-ended a vehicle in the roadway.
Mr. Stiechel was according to police showing signs of alcohol impairment and was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard. He was arrested and charged with Traveling Unreasonably Fast, DUI and Following too Closely with Accident.
He was ale to post the required 7% of his $300 bond and assigned a date in Stamford superior Court on Aug 22, 2025.
