Greenwich Man Charged with Trespass, Larceny Following Incident at 4:00am

Greenwich Police responded to a report of a someone trying to enter a locked car in a driveway on Widgeon Way around 4:00am on Tuesday, June 13. The suspect was described as a man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black shorts who had been trying to get into the reporting party’s car.

Police searched the area and located the man, later identified as, Keanu Meza, 26, of Byram, just over half a mile away matching the description of the suspicious person. Investigation revealed that Mr. Meza had unlawfully trespassed on two properties and had stolen items from within at least one motor vehicle. Further, police said Meza gave officials a false name and date of birth.

Meza was arrested and charged with Simple Trespass, Larceny 4 and Interfering with Officer/Resisting.

He was unable to post the required minimum 10% of his $1,000 bond at the time of his arrest and was placed into GPD Cell #2. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 28, 2023.

Further, Police said Mr. Meza ha an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court stemming from a motor vehicle collision back on Jan 14, 2022 in Cos Cob. He was charged with Operating with a Registration or License Suspended or Revoked, Failure to drive in Proper Lane and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Unsafe Tires. The warrant had a court set bond of $5,000.
