On April 2 around 3:30 in the afternoon, Greenwich Police responded to the area of 53 Greenwich Ave on a report of a hit and run crash.
Investigation revealed that Robert Matturo, 57, of Putnam Court in Greenwich was the registered owner of the car and had been driving it when he crashed.
Matturro was charged with Unsafe Backing, Evading Responsibility and Illegal Operation of Motor Vehicle without Minimum Insurance. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 3, 2021.
