Greenwich and State Police Report a Busy Labor Day Weekend

On Tuesday Greenwich Police shared an update on their Labor Day weekend activity.

They responded on 439 calls for service, made 15 arrests (including six for DWI), and made 50 motor vehicle stops. There were five reported motor vehicle crashes with only one minor injury.

On the water, the Department’s Marine Section made 19 marine enforcement stops and conducted 23 vessel safety inspections. There were no reported boat accidents or other significant incidents. Marine Section Officers also handed out life jackets to support water safety.

Meanwhile State Police issued 412 speeding tickets and made 18 DUI arrests during Labor Day weekend. From Friday through Sunday they responded to nearly 4,000 calls for service, including 268 accidents resulting in 25 injuries, and one death.
