GPD: Wrong Way Driver on Greenwich Ave Charged with DUI

On May 27 around 1:00am, Greenwich Police on patrol in the area of Fawcett Place and Greenwich Ave spotted a car driving the wrong way up Greenwich Ave and stopped it in the area of Grigg Street.

Police say the driver displayed signs of driving under the influence. He had including red eyes. His speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet.

The driver, Matthew Ramundo, 48, of Port Chester, NY admitted to having been drinking at a local bar prior to driving. He refused to submit to standardized field sobriety tests.

Ramundo was charged with Driving Wrong Way on One-Way Street and DUI. His bond was set at $250 and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 24, 2021.
