On Friday around 7:30pm Greenwich Police in central Greenwich attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop in the area of I95 exit 5 in Old Greenwich in relation to traffic violations.
During the attempted stop, the car failed to stop for officers and engaged them in a pursuit. The car subsequently fled the scene and officers terminated the pursuit.
The driver was later identified as Bobby Samaniego, 20, of Port Chester, NY.
After police apprised him of his violations, he responded to police headquarters where he was arrested and charged with:
• Operating Unregistered Motor Vehicle
• Reckless Driving
• Engaging Police in Pursuit
• Failure to Drive in Proper Lane
He was able to post the required 7% of his $1,000 bond and was released. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 7, 2024.
