GPD: Multiple Charges for Foursome Involved with Bank Fraud

On Dec 21 Greenwich Police plain clothes officers observed suspicious activity at a bank in the area of Greenwich Ave and along with patrol officers were able to detain and arrest four co-conspirators.

Michele Adams, 51, of Garrison, NY; Davon Devyne Mallory, 23, of Mount Vernon, NY; Shamir G Johnson, 20, of New Rochelle, NY; and Keanu Davough Powell, 22, of New Rochelle, NY were all arrested.

The investigation revealed that Ms Adams presented fraudulent documents including a counterfeit NY driver’s license and counterfeit Social Security card using the victim’s name and personal identifying information in an attempt to fraudulently open a personal checking account in the victim’s name and that all parties agreed to participate and took steps toward the commission of the identity theft.

The arrest report said the co-conspirators recruited Ms Adams in the identity theft.

A search of the co-conspirators’ vehicle following their arrest revealed a suspected stolen US Treasury check in the victim’s name written for approximately $27,000 and a counterfeit credit card in the victim’s name, which was located in a mutually accessible location between the arrestees.

All four were were charged with multiple counts of Larceny, Identity Theft, Criminal Impersonation and Forgery.

Adams was unable to post her $10,000 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 5, 2024.

Bond for the other suspects was set at $25,000, which only Mr. Johnson was able to post. All four share the date in court on Jan 5, 2024.
