GPD: Driver Charged with DUI Had Adult Learner Permit Requiring Proper Instructor

On Aug 20 just before midnight Greenwich Police observed a silver Toyota Camry speeding eastbound on Delavan Ave. While following the vehicle, officers noticed the driver was weaving and stopped the car in the area of Ritch Ave in Byram.

Upon investigation officers determined that the driver, later identified as Justin Pool of Greenwich, only had an adult learners permit that required him to only drive with a proper instructor

While speaking with him, officers observed signs of alcohol impairment.

Police arrested Mr. Pool and charged him with Operating motor Vehicle without Proper Instructor, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, DUI and Speeding.

He was able to post the required 10% cash of his $250 bond and was released.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Aug 31, 2023.
