GPD Charge Driver of Stolen Car with TX Dealer Plates

Greenwich Police conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Delavan Ave on Jan 4 spotted a car headed east with no front license plat.

Police stopped the car and determined the car had a Texas dealer plate, which is not permitted to be used outside that state.

Police determined the car had been stolen from Stamford in December.

The driver, identified as Douglas Buezo-Hernandez, 34, of Stamford, was unable to provide proof of insurance.

Buezo-Hernandez was arrested and charged with Driving an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Improper Use of a License, Failure to Display Plates, Failure to Insure and Larceny 3.

His bond was set at $1,000. He was able to post the required minimum 10% ($250) and was released.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 18, 2022.
