A Stamford man was arrested around 1:00am on Monday after police on patrol spotted a car speeding on East Putnam Ave between Overlook and Hillside Road.
After following the car which they say was going well over the posted 30 mph speed limit, police stopped the car. They say the driver, Edward Ricardo Gomez, 20, of Stamford had glossy bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.
Police say Gomez admitted to consuming alcohol during the night hours and was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.
He was charged with DUI .02 Blood Alcohol Concentration Under 21 and Speeding.
He was released after posting $250 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 1, 2021.
