On March 15 plainclothes Greenwich police officers in the area of Greenwich Ave spotted two people displaying behavior consistent with a financial crime. Jianbo Zhuang, 39, of Flushing, NY and Jie Huang, 35, of Brooklyn, NY were detained and identified.
On scene investigation revealed the two men conspired to impersonate a victim by displaying a counterfeit driver’s license and purchase a piece of jewelry valued at $6,500.
Mr. Zhuang was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 2, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2.
His bond was set at $15,000, which he was unable to post. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 24, 2025.
Mr. Huang was charged with Criminal Attempt Larceny 3, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3, Identity Theft 2, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 2, Criminal Impersonation, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation, Forgery 2 and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2.
His bond was set at $20,000, which he was unable to post. He is also due in Stamford Superior Court on March 24, 2025.
