DUI for Man Who Slept Through Several Green Lights

On Aug 17 just shy of midnight, Greenwich Police arrested a New York City man who they found slumped over the steering wheel of his car at the intersection of West Putnam Ave and East Weaver Street.

Police had responded to a tip about the driver who fell asleep while stopped for the traffic light and sat without moving through several light cycles.

Police say that while being interviewed Mr. Mills had red glassy eyes, was unsteady on his feet and smelled of alcoholic beverage. He did not perform field sobriety tests to standard.

The driver, Andrew Parker Mills, 24, of New York, NY was charged with DUI and Failure to Obey a Traffic Signal. His bond was set at $250, which he was unable to post, and he has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 3, 2019.
