On Wednesday around 3:30pm Greenwich Police were detailed to the area of the Merit Parkway near North Street on a report that a car was weaving in and out over the double yellow lines. The car was then observed to stop in a private driveway on North Street.
Through further investigation, police determined the driver, John Lowenstine, 50, of Ridgefield, CT, had red glassy eyes and smelled of alcoholic beverages.
Lowenstine was unable to perform standard field sobriety tests to standard.
He was charged with DUI and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Nov 6, 2019.
His bond was set at $250, which he was unable to post.
