Greenwich Police responded to the area of East Putnam Ave and Wendle Place on Sunday around 6:00am on a report of a man asleep at the wheel.
Police said that when the arrived officers located the man, identified as Marcos Garcia Paz, asleep in the driver’s seat of his car which was parked and running with keys in the ignition in the east bound travel lane of East Putnam Ave.
Mr. Garcia Paz woke up but was unable for several minutes to follow directions to open his locked door.
When he opened the door police said he had glassy bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.
A Stamford Police officer responded to the scene and assisted with translation.
Mr. Garcia Paz was arrested and charged with DUI. He was processed and able to post the 10% 4equired minimum of his $250 mond. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Aug 7, 2023.
