DUI for Hit & Run Drive Who Crashed into Multiple Vehicles in the 4th Ward

On Feb 11 Greenwich Police responded to the area of Sherwood Place and William Street on a report of a driver who crashed into several parked cars and fled the scene.

Police located the vehicle stopped on the roadway several blocks away having become disabled due to damage.

The driver was identified as Robert Digiulio, 55, of Port Chester, NY. On scene investigation revealed that Digiulio’s vehicle registration had been suspended for lack of insurance.

Further investigation revealed that Digiulio was driving under the influence and failed to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

He was charged with Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Evading Responsibility, DUI, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane and Failure to Insure Motor Vehicle.

He was able to post the required 10% of his $400 bond and was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 21, 2023.
